Aligned Data Centers have been expressing their intent to develop upon industrial park acreage located at the southeast corner of Reed & Carbon Hill Roads. This portion of the website has been dedicated to materials involving the Aligned Data Center Development Consideration. The materials posted prior to the P.U.D. submittal may still be found here. This page provides some background information regarding Aligns proposed data center development. Upon having received the P.U.D., the Village shall proceed with lawful review of the plan based upon facts, engineering, public input and its adopted ordinances. The provided information should not be thought of as promotional or supportive of the project, but background on what has occurred to date.

Upon receiving a PUD (Planned Unit Development) submittal from Aligned, represented by Kimley-Horn, the Village Board approved a slate of PUD Review Committee members to review the submittal materials. In addition to this initial review, the members request clarifications, corrections, and raise points of information in order to understand the purpose and design for the final land use. The objective of planned unit development is to encourage a higher level of design and amenity than is possible to achieve under the usual land development requirements. The requirements regarding this process are provided within the village code within Section 156.185. This is a preliminary step within the public process prior to conducting a public hearing regarding the conditional use for the property to be undertaken by the Zoning Board of Appeals at a future date. In addition to the original submittal materials, are the agendas and follow up documents such as Reviews and Comments submitted by Committee Members.
